TAMPA, Fla. -- One year after signing a five-year, $30 million contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Anthony Collins has been released.
Collins still will collect $3 million in guaranteed money this year, but his release frees up $3 million in cap room.
The Bucs viewed Collins as a player on the rise when they signed him away from Cincinnati last year. But Collins never lived up to expectations and wound up being inactive for the final four games of last season.
The Bucs moved right tackle Demar Dotson to the left side at the end of last season and he may stay there.
