Though the NFL normally cracks down on players wearing custom footwear, this week will be an exception.
As part of the #MyCauseMyCleats social campaign, hundreds of players will don personalized cleats supporting charity foundations of their choice, including a number of Pittsburgh Steelers. Uni Watch's Paul Lukas takes note of the cleats that will be worn by superstar quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, which support K-9 units.

Some will point to star receiver Antonio Brown's continuously colorful and thoughtful choice of cleats this season as an impetus for the NFL's decision to go cleat-crazy this week. Here's what Brown will be wearing on Sunday:

Elswhere, ESPN highlights some of the other most interesting designs from Steelers players, including defensive end Cameron Heyward, long snapper Greg Warren, running back DeAngelo Williams -- whose choice of pink footwear a decade ago helped make way to the month-long breast cancer awareness celebration the NFL now annually participates in.
This is the first year of the #MyCauseMyCleats campaign, but with so many players embracing the opportunity, it wouldn't be a surprise to see it become an annual staple.
