The St. Louis Blues' battle to sneak into the playoffs just got a little harder with the announcement that forward Robby Fabbri will miss the rest of the season with an ACL injury to his left knee.
Fabbri, 21, left midway through the first period Saturday against the Pittsburgh Penguins after getting hit in front of the St. Louis bench. He required assistance to get to the locker room.
The team said that he will be back for training camp in September.
Fabbri has 11 goals and 18 assists in 51 games this season, his second in the league. His 29 points and good for sixth on the Blues.
St. Louis recalled forwards Kenny Agostino and Magnus Paajarvi from the Chicago Wolves. Agostino's 60 points in 48 games lead the AHL.
The Blues are two points out of the final wild-card spot in the West after going to the conference finals last season. The team fired coach Ken Hitchcock last week and replaced him with assistant Mike Yeo.
