Oxford remain second after pulsating draw with promotion rivals Plymouth
Oxford United remain second in League Two following a pulsating 2-2 draw with promotion rivals Plymouth Argyle, watched by 10,019 at Home Park.Michael Appleton's Us led twice but were eventually hauled back when half-time substitute Craig Tanner headed in a 75th-minute corner. It was a key moment in the game as Argyle man of the match Curtis Nelson had just seconds earlier made a last-gasp tackle to deny Oxford danger man Danny Hylton as he homed in on Luke McCormick's goal.Oxford took the lead from a 12th-minute corner when Argyle central defender Peter Hartley headed past his own keeper. It took just three minutes for Plymouth to respond with Nelson powering home a header from a Jake Jervis corner from the left.Oxford again took the lead in the 35th minute when Kemar Roofe crashed in his 21st goal of the season from 20 yards.Argyle striker Reuben Reid powered a header off the face of the bar in the 48th minute and saw his follow-up cleared off the line by Jonjoe Kenny. At the other end Hylton's rising shot flew off the top of the bar with the scores level at 2-2.
