Neymar is drawing little comfort from Santos' 1-0 league win over Corinthians, fearing the club could end up again in a battle against relegation.
Sunday's triumph lifted Santos to 14th place in Brazil's top flight, four points above the drop zone.
Neymar, who took the free kick that led to the only goal of the game, said: "Every match is going to be a struggle. There won't be any matches we'll win 3-0 or 4-0. Obviously, that will happen at some point (in the future), but given what Santos has become, unfortunately, we're no longer a powerhouse in Brazilian football.
"Today, there are two powerhouses [Palmeiras and Flamengo] in Brazilian football, and we know which ones they are. But we continue to give it our all and work every day to improve. What Santos fans can expect from this squad is total commitment and dedication every day, in every match."
Santos achieved global following when Pelé was a player at the club but have not won the Brazilian championship since 2004.

Neymar returned to his boyhood club in January 2025 and helped Santos avoid the drop.
Santos were relegated in 2023 for the first and only time in the club's history almost a year after the death of Pelé.
