News: 5 days agoOnyenwere agreed to a multi-year contract with the Mystics on Sunday, Chiney Ogwumike of ESPN reports.

Spin: After spending the last two seasons in Chicago, Onyenwere will join the Mystics on a deal worth over $1.4 million. Over 42 regular-season appearances (22 starts) in 2025, the 26-year-old forward averaged 5.8 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 16.9 minutes per contest.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Onyenwere started 40 games over the past two seasons for Chicago but is an unrestricted free agent ahead of 2026. In five WNBA seasons, she's made 182 regular-season appearances (97 starts) with three different teams, so wherever she lands, Onyenwere figures to carve out a consistent role. While a steady contributor, she's never finished a season as a top-50 fantasy option, so managers shouldn't reach for her on draft day, even if she's slated for a starting role with her new team. However, she's a safe late-round pick who should definitely be on radars throughout the campaign.
