The Dallas Cowboys will go with the same top trio of receivers for the fourth straight year in Dez Bryant, Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley. Tony Romo has confidence in all three and a history of making big plays with all three. How will that translate in 2016 from a fantasy standpoint? With the projections, Romo could have a career year.
Dez Bryant
ESPN Fantasy projection: 84.1 catches, 1,207.2 yards, 14.4 touchdowns
Over or under: From 2012-14, Bryant averaged 91 catches for 1,311 yards and 13.6 touchdowns a season. Last season was a complete wash because of a broken right foot in the season opener. He wants to show he remains one of the best receivers in the league and is using the smallest of doubters as motivation. With a healthy Romo, he will excel but not enough for more than 14 touchdowns. He will have more catches and yards than projected but the touchdowns will be slightly under.
Terrance Williams
ESPN Fantasy projection: 42.5 catches, 704.3 yards, 4.9 touchdowns
Over or under: Williams is difficult to figure from a fantasy standpoint because so much attention is paid to Bryant and Jason Witten in the passing game. But he can come up with the big plays. He had career highs in catches and yards last year. In the two full games played by Romo, Williams had nine catches for 139 yards and a touchdown. He is also in a contract year. He is maddening at times but take the over in all three categories.
Cole Beasley
ESPN Fantasy projection: 49.2 catches, 496.2 yards, 3 touchdowns
Over or under: Romo will look to get rid of the ball quickly, especially early in the season, as he looks to avoid injury. Beasley wins early in his routes and he is a favored target of Romo. Take the over in all of the categories. Beasley has seen his touchdown total rise in every season he has played, topping out at five last year.
