Expectations were sky high for the Green Bay Packers in 2025. After trading for Micah Parsons in late August, they entered the season with the second-shortest odds to win the NFC. Back-to-back wins to start the season quickly made them conference favorites.
Green Bay was still the third favorite to win the Super Bowl after starting 9-3-1 through 13 games. Then, everything fell apart. The Packers ended the regular season on a four-game losing streak. Parsons tore his ACL in Week 15, and Jordan Love suffered a concussion one week later. The Packers were still road favorites against the Chicago Bears in the wild-card round as Love returned, but they blew an 11-point lead with five minutes left to fall, 31-27. Despite the poor finish, the Packers are once again favored to make the playoffs. 2026 outlook: Sky is the limit for Packers
The Packers have the makings of a team that could break through for a run all the way to the Super Bowl. They ranked second in EPA per pass play last season (behind only the New England Patriots) but ranked 26th in pass rate over expectation, per NFL Next Gen Stats. If they lean more heavily into their advantage -- and it's the best advantage a team can have -- they can only improve. They were missing superstar edge rusher Parsons at the end of the year, but by the time playoff football comes around this season, he'll be back. And best of all: this was the youngest team in the league in terms of snap-weighted age, per ESPN's Bill Barnwell. I love betting on growth from a young team like this. -- Seth Walder

I see I'm going head-to-head against Matt Bowen on this bet, but I'm willing to do that because that's how much I believe in Green Bay this year. The case is all right there in the blurb above, and while I've chosen to back them for the division, I think bets on Packers to win the Super Bowl or Love to win MVP (18-1) ought to be in consideration, too. -- Walder
