The Florida state attorney's office issued a criminal summons Tuesday against Zachery Kromer, the son of Buffalo Bills offensive line coach Aaron Kromer, for his alleged role in an altercation early Sunday morning.
A public information officer for the Walton County (Florida) Sheriff's Office told ESPN that police are pursuing a misdemeanor battery charge against Zachery Kromer, 21, after he put his hands on one of the boys whom both Kromers confronted over the use of chairs on a public beach.
The accuser, also a minor, is not the same boy Aaron Kromer is alleged to have punched and threatened.
A judge can decide as soon as Wednesday whether to issue a warrant for Zachery Kromer's arrest or a notice for him to appear in court.
The Walton County Sheriff's Office said late Tuesday that no court date has been set for Aaron Kromer, who was arrested and charged with misdemeanor battery after the altercation.
Aaron Kromer, 48, has been accused of pushing one of the boys to the ground and punching him in the face after throwing their fishing pole into the water. Kromer allegedly then ordered that the chairs be returned to where they were found and told the boy he would kill the boy's family if he reported him to the police, according to the statement.
The office's public information officer told ESPN that a witness who called police had interacted with Aaron Kromer before Sunday's incident and said that Kromer had been friendly and that his actions Sunday morning were out of the ordinary.
The witness told 911 operators that Aaron Kromer had been drinking, but police are not able to confirm whether he was intoxicated, the sheriff's office said.
Kromer was placed on indefinite paid administrative leave by the Bills earlier Tuesday.
