BEREA, Ohio -- The NFL has suspended Cleveland Browns offensive lineman Alvin Bailey two games for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.
He will miss Cleveland's games against Buffalo and San Diego.
Bailey was arrested Sept. 27 for DUI after the team returned from an overtime loss in Miami.
"Obviously, we dealt with that issue before. It is the league's protocol to make their decision, and they did. We will move on from there," coach Hue Jackson said.
On Nov. 4, Bailey pleaded no contest and had his driver's license suspended for six months. Part of the plea included completing a three-day driver-intervention course by February 2017 or spending three days in jail.
Bailey has played in all 13 games for the Browns this season, with five starts. His last start was Nov. 6 against Dallas.
He spoke Oct. 1 about the arrest and took accountability. He said he made a mistake, let his team down and added: "I've got to own up to it."
