ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Detroit Lions defensive back Avonte Maddox was carted to the locker room after suffering a foot injury during the first half of Thursday night's 41-31 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Maddox went down after a second-quarter collision with teammate Chuck Clark in the end zone and limped off the field next to team trainers before going to the locker room on a cart.
Lions coach Dan Campbell said he wouldn't have an update on Maddox's injury until Friday.
"I don't know. Maddox is pretty tough, so when he doesn't come back, that makes me nervous," Campbell said. "But, I won't know until [Friday] for sure."
Maddox was spotted on crutches with his left foot in a boot as he left the locker room.
Maddox's injury was yet another blow to the Lions' secondary, as star safeties Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph remain on the reserve/PUP list, meaning they will miss at least the first four games.
