Injured Dallas Stars forward Tyler Seguin can't get on the ice at the American Airlines Center right now, but he'll be there for a concert ... a Justin Bieber concert.
Appearing on KTCK 1310 The Ticket in Dallas for his weekly radio show, Seguin, 24, said "I'll be there" when asked if he'd be at the April 10 concert. Asked if he had met the singer, Seguin said, "I have not met the Biebs."
But that doesn't mean he's not a fan.
"I don't know if I could name the songs, but I probably definitely sing along to it, though," Seguin said. "When he's at the concert, I don't think there will be a song that I won't be able to sing. I am a Belieber."
Seguin injured his Achilles March 17 and underwent surgery the next day. The team is hoping that he will be ready for the playoffs.
"The biggest thing is, I still kind of walk with a limp," Seguin said. "I'm off crutches pretty much now, so it's just walking. When you're on that type of treadmill, you're not using your full weight, so you can walk more normally and get that habit back of walking properly and not with a limp. It works out the Achilles a little bit and gets you stretching."
The Stars' last regular-season game is April 9 at home. The team then turns the arena over to Bieber. Why will the Stars forward be there?
"His songs are catchy, I don't know what to tell you," Seguin said. "He's changed, right? He's got tattoos! And he's Canadian, he's from Ontario, he likes hockey. I feel like we'd be Facebook friends, you know?"
