BALTIMORE RAVENS
The Baltimore Sun's Mike Preston believes the team's chances of retaining safety Ed Reed and offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie increased for the Ravens after they didn't use cap room on linebackers Dannell Ellerbe and Paul Kruger.
The Ravens are one of six teams who have talked to the agent for James Harrison. There have been no negotiations between Baltimore and the former Steelers linebacker.
In a statement released by the Ravens, general manager Ozzie Newsome acknowledged that it was an "unpleasant" part of the business to trade wide receiver Anquan Boldin and said he knows Boldin "can still play at a high level."
Long-snapper Morgan Cox signed a two-year deal with the Ravens after not receiving a restricted free-agent tender. Offensive lineman Ramon Harewood signed a one-year deal after not being tendered as a restricted free agent.
CINCINNATI BENGALS
The Bengals are meeting with Raiders running back Mike Goodson on Wednesday and could sign him to share the workload with BenJarvus Green-Ellis, according to Yahoo Sports. The Cowboys' Felix Jones may be another option if Cincinnati passes on Goodson. The team met with the Cardinals' Beanie Wells on Tuesday.
PITTSBURGH STEELERS
The Steelers will release guard Willie Colon on Wednesday, according to The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. He will be designated a June 1 cut, which will open up $5.5 million in cap room.
Pittsburgh re-signed tight end David Johnson, who missed all of last season, to a one-year contract. Cornerback DeMarcus Van Dyke, who was benched for penalties on special teams, is also returning to the Steelers.
Bruce Gradkowski, the Bengals' backup last season, is visiting his hometown of Pittsburgh to meet with the Steelers, who are looking for a new No. 2 quarterback behind Ben Roethlisberger.
CLEVELAND BROWNS
The Browns and Buccaneers have expressed interest in trading for Patriots backup quarterback Ryan Mallett, a source told The Boston Herald. But the paper said no deal is imminent.
Browns receiver-returner Josh Cribbs is leaning toward signing with the Cardinals, according to Fox Sports. The Patriots are also interested in Cribbs.
Cardinals outside linebacker Quentin Groves, another pass rusher, is scheduled to visit the Browns, according to The Plain Dealer.
With Jared Cook, the top tight end in the free-agent class, reaching a deal with the Rams, the Browns are expected to turn their focus to the Raiders' Brandon Myers, according to the Akron Beacon Journal.
