The Baltimore Ravens wanted linebacker Arthur Brown so badly in 2013 that they traded three picks to move up in the second round to get him.
Brown has not only failed to start a game in his two-year career but he has been inactive for all four games this season. John Harbaugh said there are a couple of players who are ahead of Brown at this point, which is why he's not playing.
"He’s playing well. All you have to do is turn on the preseason tape and watch him play," Harbaugh said. "But then you turn on the preseason tape of the other guys and watch them play. In Arthur’s case, it comes down to a couple little phases that we think the other guys are a little better at right now, and Arthur knows that.”
Here's a look at where the Ravens' 2013 draft class stands at this point:
*SS Matt Elam, first round: He has been a two-year starter, although he has struggled in coverage. Elam is the 74th-ranked safety (out of 77), according to Pro Football Focus.
ILB Arthur Brown, second round: He has been inactive for all four games this year after playing 14 games last season. Brown primarily played on passing downs as a rookie.
*NT Brandon Williams, third round: He's a major reason why the Ravens have the No. 7 run defense in the NFL. This is his first year as a starter.
LB John Simon, fourth round: He's on the Ravens' practice squad after playing seven games on special teams as a rookie.
*FB Kyle Juszczyk, fourth round: He's becoming a bigger part of the Ravens' offense. Juszczyk has five catches for 62 yards and one touchdown this season.
*OT Rick Wagner, fifth round: He has been extremely solid in his first year as the starting right tackle. Wagner is ranked second among all right tackles, according to Pro Football Focus.
DE Kapron Lewis-Moore, sixth round: He suffered season-ending Achilles injury during training camp. Lewis-Moore has yet to play a regular-season game for the Ravens.
OL Ryan Jensen, sixth round: He's on the Ravens' practice squad after being inactive for all 16 games last season.
WR Aaron Mellette, seventh round: He was released in June after failing a physical.
CB Marc Anthony, seventh round: He was released in the final cut last year.
