The Buffalo Bills got an early jump on their roster cuts Friday, releasing 18 players and placing another three on injured reserve.
With their roster now at 55 players, the Bills must make at least two more moves prior to Saturday's 6 p.m. deadline.

What names stand out among this group?
Let's start with undrafted rookie Izaan Cross, who had a quiet preseason and was considered a long shot to make the 53-man roster. The Bills, so far, have kept eight defensive linemen on their roster, which is about 2-3 higher than most had projected.
Elsewhere, the Buffalo News' Tim Graham tweeted Friday evening that the Bills are attempting to trade linebacker Bryan Scott, which would continue to shuffle the deck as Saturday's deadline approaches.
Another name that stands out: offensive lineman Doug Legursky. He was carted off the field after suffering what coach Doug Marrone said initially looks like a serious leg injury. The Bills released both Antoine Caldwell and David Snow, who were the two players most likely to fill Legursky's role as the top interior backup. If Legursky winds up being placed on injured reserve, it would not be surprising if the Bills swung a trade or scoured the waiver wire for an interior offensive lineman.
