LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Chicago Bears waived offensive tackle Tayo Fabuluje on Wednesday, the team announced.
Fabuluje, who appeared in four games as a rookie, did not attend either of the two organized team activities open to the media.
A sixth-round pick (183rd overall) out of TCU in 2015, Fabuluje served a four-game suspension last year for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.
Offensive line coach Dave Magazu called Fabuluje “the wild card” on the group when the veteran coach spoke to reporters at rookie camp. Magazu later intimated that Fabuluje had to tighten his focus in order to compete for a roster spot.
Fabuluje is the first member of the 2015 draft class to leave the team.
