Ownership philosophy: Haslam is considered a hands-on owner, spending extended time at the facility during the season and taking team officials to Florida last month for a three-day retreat to discuss organizational structure. He's been depicted in reports as meddling -- a Jerry Jones Lite -- but coach Mike Pettine says that's not the case. Haslam provides the team with every resource necessary to win and asks the right questions in meetings, Browns president Alec Scheiner said. During the season, Pettine spends time with Haslam on the field before practices or for hour-long meetings some days. Haslam can be seen with general manager Ray Farmer on the sidelines before games.
Defining moment in ownership tenure: By firing head coach Rob Chudzinski, team president Joe Banner and general manager Michael Lombardi after the 2013 season, Haslam embraced the quick-trigger approach to staffing a front office. The trio had been together for one full season.
