GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The Green Bay Packers didn't stay at the 90-man offseason roster limit for long.
Last Tuesday, they filled out their roster for the first time this year when they signed rookie tackle Vince Kowalski.
On Monday, they were back at 89 after they released rookie guard Marcus Reed of Fayetteville State.
Reed was one of the original 17 undrafted free agents signed immediately after the draft. The Packers gave him a $4,000 signing bonus.
The Packers conducted physicals Monday, one day before their mandatory minicamp, so it's possible team doctors discovered something wrong with Reed. However, Reed passed the initial physical when he was signed, and he was not waived with any injury distinction. His agent, Matt Striegel, did not immediately respond to messages left following the roster move.
