HOUSTON -- The goal during training camp is getting in shape, getting tougher, bonding and learning the system.
The goal week-to-week is to learn the game plan and get to Sunday as healthy and fresh as possible. This week, as the Houston Texans, prepare to host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the injury report might be a bit crowded after a very physical game against the Carolina Panthers.
"We're pretty banged up," Texans coach Bill O'Brien said during his weekly radio show. "Our practices this week won't be as physical."
The Texans lost one player for the season during the game. Offensive lineman Jeff Adams tore his patella tendon during the game. Even heading into Week 2, they were already missing left tackle Duane Brown (thumb), guard Xavier Su'a-Filo (calf), inside linebacker Mike Mohamed (calf), safety Lonnie Ballentine (knee) and running back Arian Foster (groin).
"I think we'll walk through, we'll practice, we'll get out there and get some things in practice," O'Brien said. "But overall (have) meetings, walkthrough and have these guys as fresh as they can be on Sunday."
