HOUSTON -- The Houston Texans put inside linebacker Mike Mohamed and outside linebacker Carlos Thompson on injured reserve Wednesday.
Mohamed has missed each of the Texans games this season with a calf injury. Thompson likely suffered an injury against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.
The Texans went into today with 52 players on their roster, because they never added anyone after placing Jeff Adams on injured reserve. Today's two subtractions meant there were three available spots and they filled all three with linebackers. Inside linebacker Max Bullough was activated from the practice squad. Outside linebacker Kourtnei Brown was signed off Tampa Bay's practice squad. And inside linebacker Brian Peters was signed off Minnesota's practice squad.
Where this will likely make the biggest difference is on special teams, an area the Texans have been trying to repair for years now.
The Texans also brought Zac Dysert back to their practice squad. This is likely so they can get the reps they need out of quarterbacks in practice. Starter Ryan Mallett was limited in today's practice with a chest injury, according to today's injury report.
