The Texans allocate 10.32 percent more of their cap space to their offensive line than the league-wide average. Brown and Myers, the last two offensive linemen to get big contracts, present a significantly larger cap hit than the league average for linemen, which is $1,251,159.18. Those two and Newton are the only three Texans' linemen who were above the league average this season. Newton is the only one in this group scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent in March. His play this season should have earned him a longer tenure with the Texans.
