INDIANAPOLIS -- Ryan Grigson's memory of linebacker Aaron Morgan with the Indianapolis Colts consists of two occasions.
One, the Colts' general manager liked what he saw out of Morgan during his initial workout with the team in December 2013 that they signed him then. And, two, Morgona's one practice in training camp last July was so impressive that Grigson believed believed the linebacker had a future with the franchise despite being placed on injured reserve on July 27, 2014.
"We're hanging onto this guy because he was lights out," Grigson recalled saying last July. "He was lights out in a 9-on-7 period and playing with a bad shoulder. The guy opened a lot of eyes with how he played. He had a hellacious day that day."
Morgan's time with the Colts came to an end Monday when the team placed him on the reserve/retired list.
Morgan recorded six tackles in 18 career games with Jacksonville (2010-12) and Tampa Bay (2012).
