INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis Colts fullback -- or linebacker -- Mario Harvey has changed his number again.
Harvey started the season wearing No. 49, but now he's wearing No. 55.
Does that mean Harvey has switched back to linebacker from fullback?
Yes, but he still has the option of playing fullback.
"He's just got to report now," Colts coach Chuck Pagano said. "When he had the 48 number, he didn't have to do anything. At least now if we want to play him on defense, we can play him on defense. If we want to play him on offense, he can go play offense, he just has to report."
Harvey had played linebacker mostly during his career, but he was moved to fullback during the offseason. He spent time practicing at fullback when Bruce Arians was interim coach in 2012.
The Colts have injury concerns at linebacker. Robert Mathis is out for the season with a torn Achilles, Cam Johnson was placed on injured reserve with a strained elbow this week and Jerrell Freeman did not practice for the second straight day Friday because of a hamstring problem. Fullback Stanley Havili is on the physically unable to perform list, but the Colts can also use one of their tight ends at fullback.
"I'm both. I'm here, there, offense, defense. Offensive walkthrough, defensive walkthrough, I'm back-and-forth. I'm getting a lot of exercise running back and forth," Harvey said. "I'm whatever you want me to be, linebacker, fullback, special teams. I'm whatever you want me to be. That's just my contribution to the team."
