JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle Sen'Derrick Marks underwent successful surgery on Wednesday to repair his torn right triceps, the team announced.
Jaguars team physician Kevin Kaplan performed the surgery at Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute. There is no immediate update on a rehab timeline for Marks’ return.
Marks suffered the injury during the Jaguars’ 22-20 victory over the Baltimore Ravens last Sunday. He sought a second opinion on Monday and the team placed him on IR earlier on Wednesday.
Marks missed the first games of the year while coming back from a torn right ACL, which he suffered in the 2014 season finale. Marks had five tackles and three pass breakups in the four games in which he played.
Marks was the Jaguars' best defensive lineman -- and arguably their best defensive player -- the past two seasons. He led the Jaguars in 2014 with 8.5 sacks, 15 tackles for loss and 16 quarterback hurries to go along with 44 tackles and a fumble recovery, stats that got him named an alternate to the Pro Bowl.
In his three seasons in Jacksonville, Marks has 82 tackles, 12.5 sacks, 24 QB hurries, three forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and 12 pass breakups.
