DAVIE, Fla. -- The Miami Dolphins are without two potential starters for Tuesday's practice. Linebacker Koa Misi and wide receiver Kenny Stills are both out due to calf injuries.
Why is this significant? Stills and Misi have missed the entire week of preparation and likely will be out for Thursday’s preseason opener against the Chicago Bears.
The Dolphins have gone with backup Kelvin Sheppard at middle linebacker and he's expected to start against Chicago. Backup receiver Rishard Matthews also has taken Stills' place with Miami’s first-team offense in training camp.
Other injuries for Miami Tuesday include rookie running back Jay Ajayi (hamstring) and receiver Christion Jones (hamstring).
