EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- The Minnesota Vikings will activate cornerback Josh Robinson from the physically unable to perform list on Wednesday, coach Mike Zimmer said.
Robinson had been out since sustaining a partially torn pectoral muscle when he fell during organized team activities in June, and had been on the PUP list since the start of training camp. He has been practicing for the last three weeks, and will get his chance to crack the Vikings' depth chart at cornerback -- which could be difficult, considering first-round pick Trae Waynes has only seen occasional playing time behind Xavier Rhodes, Terence Newman and Captain Munnerlyn.
To make room for Robinson, the Vikings will release tight end Chase Ford, who hasn't been active this season after catching 23 passes in 11 games last season.
