Every Wednesday during the season, we've led off the day with a look at some notable former New England Patriots and their production -- splitting it into two updates between the AFC and NFC. This is the final update for the 2014 season:
LB Brandon Spikes (Bills) -- Played 28 of 67 defensive snaps in a road win over the Patriots but didn't register on the stat sheet. He has played 504 of 1,087 defensive snaps this season (46.3 percent) and finished with 54 tackles, three passes defended and one forced fumble.
WR Kenbrell Thompkins (Raiders) -- Started and played 36 of 58 offensive snaps in a road loss to the Broncos, finishing with one catch for two yards. He had 15 catches for 209 yards in Oakland this season.
CB Ras-I Dowling (Raiders) -- He played 17 defensive snaps (one tackle) and nine on special teams in a road loss to the Broncos. This was his third game since being promoted from the practice squad.
CB Aqib Talib (Broncos) -- Started and played 31 of 58 defensive snaps in a home win over the Raiders (4 tackles, 1 sack). Talib, who was named to the Pro Bowl, played 917 of 1,081 defensive snaps in 15 games with 17 passes defended, four interceptions, one sack and 63 tackles.
WR Wes Welker (Broncos) -- Totaled two catches for 42 yards in a home win over the Raiders, playing 61 of 78 offensive snaps. In 14 games this season he played 743 of 1,005 offensive snaps, totaling 49 catches for 464 yards.
ST Don Jones (Dolphins) -- Played 12 special-teams snaps in a home loss to the Jets and finished with one tackle. He had five special-teams tackles in four games with Miami after being claimed on waivers from New England.
WR Kamar Aiken (Ravens) -- He played 16 of 67 offensive snaps in a home win over the Browns (2 catches, 13 yards, TD, as well as 19 special teams snaps). He totaled 24 catches for 267 yards and three touchdowns this season.
DT Casey Walker (Ravens) -- Made his debut in Baltimore after being signed off the New England practice squad earlier in December, playing nine snaps in a home win over the Browns (one assisted tackle).
CB Darius Butler (Colts) -- Played 35 of 60 defensive snaps in a road win over the Titans (1 tackle, 1 pass defended). He totaled 46 tackles and eight passes defended this season.
S Sergio Brown (Colts) -- The former undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame played 10 of 60 defensive snaps in a road win over Tennessee, adding five on special teams. He didn't show up on the stat sheet.
QB Brian Hoyer (Browns) -- Inactive due to a shoulder injury in a road loss to the Ravens. Started 13 games this season and was 242-of-438 passing for 3,326 yards, 12 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
C Nick McDonald (Browns) -- Started and played all 65 snaps in a road loss to Baltimore. The former Patriot, who played 16 games (3 starts) for the team from 2011-12, started seven of the last 10 games for the Browns.
QB Ryan Mallett (Texans) -- Was placed on season-ending injured reserve with a torn pectoral muscle after making two starts in relief of Ryan Fitzpatrick.
LB Jeff Tarpinian (Texans) -- Played 21 special-teams snaps in a home win over Jacksonville (1 tackle). Played in 14 games this season.
TE Matthew Mulligan (Titans) -- In his second game with the club, he started and played 17 of 60 offensive snaps in a home loss to the Colts. He didn't register on the stat sheet. The Titans were his third team this season after stints in Chicago and Arizona.
OT Will Svitek (Titans) -- The 32-year-old veteran was a backup for the second week in a row after starting for three straight weeks, coming on to the field for just two special-teams snaps in a home loss to Indianapolis.
CB Jemea Thomas (Titans) – The 2014 sixth-round draft choice of the Patriots, who also spent time with Dallas and St. Louis before joining Tennessee, was inactive for a home loss to the Colts.
WR Greg Salas (Jets) -- Was placed on season-ending injured reserve (hamstring). He played in 220 of 962 snaps this season and had eight catches for 167 yards.
TE Zach Sudfeld (Jets) -- Played 15 of 62 offensive snaps in a road win over the Dolphins (2 catches, 44 yards), as well as a team-high 24 special-teams plays (1 tackle). He played 141 of 1,087 offensive snaps this season (his primary contributions come on special teams) and had five catches for 85 yards.
WR Brandon Tate (Bengals) -- Started and played 44 of 71 offensive snaps in a road loss to the Steelers (2 catches, 22 yards), while also fielding two punts (return for 6 yards and fair catch). Totaled 17 catches for 193 yards and one touchdown this season while returning 18 punts and an additional 18 kickoffs for Cincinnati.
