NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Observed and heard in the locker room after the Cleveland Browns' 29-28 win over the Tennessee Titans:
Benjamin gets redemption: Browns players were legitimately happy for receiver Travis Benjamin, who overcame a rough four-game stretch of punt returning to seal the game with two fourth-quarter scores. Benjamin expressed relief that his punt drop for a turnover in the third quarter was reversed by a Titans penalty. “Like a kid going to Disney World,” Benjamin said.
This won’t last: That’s twice in four games the Browns have entered halftime down by 20-plus points. Coming back from 28-3 to win is nice and all, but doing the same against good teams won’t happen most weeks. “We knew we didn’t play our best football,” linebacker Karlos Dansby said. “We have to put it all together.”
Offense oozes confidence: Despite the dreadful start, the Browns have no reason to panic when averaging 26 points per game on the year. Offensive players told the defense they would score to open the half -- they did with a field goal -- and when getting the ball back at the 43-yard line with 3:03 left, quarterback Brian Hoyer thought one thing: “Let’s win.”
