A few thoughts on the Oakland Raiders' 47-14 loss on Sunday at Denver:
What it means: It’s a wrap. Another disappointing season in the books for the Raiders. They finished 3-13. The Raiders have won 11 games in three seasons under general manager Reggie McKenzie. They won 16 games in the two seasons before he took over. Oakland went 3-9 under interim coach Tony Sparano and finished the season 0-8 on the road. The Raiders will have the No. 4 pick in the draft.
Stock watch: Momentum is pointing down. For the third time after an Oakland win, the Raiders were handled soundly on the road. A lack of consistency was a season-long issue for this team.
Manning is good, not great: Denver quarterback Peyton Manning improved to 6-0 against the Raiders as a Bronco. Manning threw for 273 yards but no touchdown passes. The Broncos did a lot of their damage on the ground. They scored all three of their offensive touchdowns on run plays when Manning was playing.
Game ball: My Raiders' season MVP is rookie quarterback Derek Carr. He was far from perfect, but he showed he is the future of this team. The No. 36 overall pick in the 2014 draft started every game and instantly became a team leader. The Raiders have something in Carr.
What's next: It’s another offseason and another coaching search for the Raiders. Owner Mark Davis will begin looking for a new coach immediately, and other front-office changes could follow for the Raiders as they continue to try to turn around after yet another disappointing season.
