PHILADELPHIA -- The Philadelphia Eagles made two roster moves Monday, a day before they begin another week of organized team activity practices.
The Eagles signed defensive tackle Derrick Lott, a 6-foot-4, 315-pounder who spent last season on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' practice squad. Lott, who went undrafted out of Tennessee-Chattanooga, has not appeared in an NFL game.
To make room, the Eagles released punt Ryan Quigley. He had a rough day at practice last week when it was open to the media. So did veteran Donnie Jones, so it wasn’t clear whether the poor punts had to do with the weather or the time of year.
Neither punter seemed anywhere near regular-season form.
The Eagles are relatively thin at defensive tackle. Fletcher Cox, their best defensive player, has been skipping voluntary workouts. Beau Allen was sideline last week with an injury. That left Taylor Hart and Bennie Logan as the starting defensive tackles.
