The San Francisco 49ers emerged from the second of two joint practices with the Denver Broncos on Thursday with a pair of injured players.
Starting cornerback Tramaine Brock and inside linebacker Nick Moody, who had been with the first-team defense alongside NaVorro Bowman until incumbent Michael Wilhoite returned from a calf injury and began practicing this week, suffered leg muscle and knee injuries, respectively.
49ers coach Jim Tomsula did not seem overly concerned, though.
“Just talked to [Moody], seems like that’s fine,” Tomsula said after practice. “Haven’t gotten to the trainer yet. And T-Brock pulled a muscle, I just asked him, too. He said he’s good. Just felt a little pinch, is what he said. So, we’re in great shape with that.
“We were trying to make sure we stay hydrated up here with the air and the heat. So, that’s where that is.”
Brock is the lone cornerback to lock down a starting spot and the veteran, who was limited to three games last year by hamstring, toe and ankle injuries, has also been the first slot cornerback.
Tight end Vance McDonald (ankle), safety Craig Dahl (back) and linebacker Philip Wheeler (leg) did not practice either. And inside linebacker Ahmad Brooks, who is facing misdemeanor charges of sexual battery, was sent back to California indefinitely by the team.
