ORLANDO, Fla. -- The San Francisco 49ers remained in Florida after Sunday's loss to Miami and opened their practice week here Tuesday at the University of Central Florida.
With a trip to Chicago awaiting Sunday, the 49ers certainly seem to be in better health than the banged-up Bears. As they stepped on the field on Tuesday, the 49ers were only seemingly without a few players. Outside linebackers Eli Harold and Aaron Lynch, defensive lineman Ronald Blair and receiver Quinton Patton were either limited or not participating in some capacity during the portion of the practice open to media.
Harold and Lynch have been dealing with toe and ankle issues, respectively. Lynch has been out since before the bye and Harold has mostly managed his pain and continued to play. Patton is in the concussion protocol after suffering a head injury in Miami. Blair's issue is unknown, but the first injury report is not due to be released until Wednesday.
Defensive tackle Quinton Dial, who didn't not play against Miami because of neck and knee ailments, was participating in practice, albeit in a blue no-contact jersey.
Additionally, the 49ers placed linebacker Shayne Skov on injured reserve Tuesday with a knee injury. To replace Skov, they promoted Marcus Ball from the practice squad and signed linebacker Wynton McManis to fill the vacated practice squad spot.
