Cornerback Loucheiz Purifoy, who the Seattle Seahawks claimed off waivers Friday from the Indianapolis Colts, did not pass his physical with the team, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Monday.
That means another roster move is coming, but Carroll said that decision had not been made as of Monday afternoon.
“I can’t tell you which way we’re going on it,” Carroll said Monday. “We’re going to try to figure it out today.”
The Seahawks placed rookie outside linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis on injured reserve Friday.
“It looks like he needs some work on his shoulder,” Carroll said of Pierre-Louis. “It’s a labrum issue.”
The good news is nickel cornerback Jeremy Lane, who did not play Thursday because of a glute injury, is expected to return this week.
“The short week didn’t help him,” Carroll said of Lane. “We wanted to make sure Jeremy is healthy for this week, which he will be.”
Carroll isn’t sure if tight end Cooper Helfet (sprained ankle) will play at Philadelphia this weekend.
“It’s a day-to-day deal,” Carroll said on Cooper. “He’s not ready to practice and it’s going to take a couple of more days. He’s close, but we really won’t know until the end of the week.”
And starting center Max Unger isn’t likely to play Sunday. He has missed the last two games with an ankle and knee injury.
“The feeling is he should be able to make it back next week [for the home game against the Sam Francisco 49ers on Dec. 14],” Carroll said of Unger. “He’s still a little gimpy, but getting better.”
