Every weekday morning, we'll round up local and national Seattle Seahawks-related links.
Outside linebacker/defensive lineman Mike Neal has visited with the Seahawks, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Neal played outside linebacker in the Green Bay Packers' 3-4 last season but also has experience as a defensive lineman. He could take on multiple roles with the Seahawks, helping to fill the void left by Bruce Irvin and potentially rushing from the interior in substitution packages.
Neal has reportedly also visited the Detroit Lions. He turns 29 in June.
During an interview with KIRO-AM 710 ESPN Seattle, former Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager and current analyst Mark Dominik discussed the possibility of the Seahawks trading defensive lineman Michael Bennett:
Dominik added that he probably wouldn't even listen to trade proposals for [Kam] Chancellor since hard-hitting enforcers and locker-room leaders like him are hard to come by.
"Sometimes if you can find a trade partner that really makes sense for you, sell high," Dominik said. "Right now, Michael Bennett is coming on a high and if you really had to do it, to me you maximize your value on the trade now."
Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune looks at how much money Russell Okung potentially saved by not using an agent:
At the maximum 3 percent commission rate agents get on NFL contracts, per the cap from the league’s players’ union, Okung could be saving at least $318,000 per year on agent fees. Okung has been consulting with the union since before entering free agency.
Again, though, that remains an “if” after a prove-it 2016 season for Okung in Denver.
