Every weekday morning, we'll round up local and national Seattle Seahawks-related links.
Danny O'Neil of 710 ESPN Seattle was asked about the Seahawks' young cornerback options:
So I think that the first two combatants in roster battle are Jeremy Lane and [Tharold] Simon with [Stanley] Jean-Baptiste, [George] Farmer and [Mohammed] Seisay battling for a roster spot. Seattle's best lineup would have Simon played a prominent role, whether that's starting or coming in to play the outside in the nickel package with Lane sliding inside. Trouble is that at this point it's impossible to expect or rely upon Simon staying healthy.
The Seahawks haven't spent much on outside free agents, writes Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times:
Aside from Clemons, the three other outside free agents signed by the Seahawks are offensive linemen J’Marcus Webb (two years, $6 million total, $2.45 million guaranteed) and Bradley Sowell (one year, $1 million with $200,000 guaranteed) and defensive tackle Sealver Siliga (one year, $1.05 million, $200,000 guaranteed).
So the guarantees the Seahawks have handed out to outside free agents this year remains relatively minimal -- a total of $2.9 million overall.
Russell Wilson is a pitch man for frozen bread. Some are shaped like footballs, while others are shaped like globes. Via Micah Peters of FoxSports.com:
"Rather than just grabbing a normal piece of bread, now [a child] actually grabs something that triggers his mind to think about the continents of the world, and what cities and where, and where they want to go," Wilson said.
