SEATTLE -- Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks' starting offense were shut out in the first half of Thursday night's preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Five possessions resulted in four punts and one turnover on downs. Wilson was 5-for-11 for 77 yards, and he got sacked four times. There were a couple bright spots. Wilson hit Tyler Lockett for a 31-yard completion on a beautiful deep pass that fit in between two defenders. He also connected with Kenny Lawler on a 16-yard comeback route.
But overall, the Seahawks failed to sustain drives. They had a pair of three-and-outs and three drives that gained fewer than 10 yards.
On the ground, Christine Michael once again looked good, carrying 10 times for 55 yards. He lined up out wide at one point and had a 9-yard reception.
It's obviously only the preseason and not time to panic. Thomas Rawls and Jimmy Graham did not play. But on six possessions through two games, the first-team offense has failed to produce a score.
The good news is that the starters appeared to come out of the half healthy. Next week against the Dallas Cowboys, Wilson and the first team will likely play into the second half.
