Every weekday morning, we'll round up local and national Seattle Seahawks-related links.
Jayson Jenks of The Seattle Times writes about Seahawks QBs coach Carl "Tater" Smith:
He apologizes for dancing
“Sorry,” he says. “It’s the music.”
Russell Wilson apologizes for nothing.
“You should have seen him at the wedding when Earth, Wind & Fire was playing,” he says, referring to his offseason wedding to singer Ciara. “He was grooving the whole night. He even got a couple of dances with Jennifer Hudson. I think that was the highlight of his life -- that and the Super Bowl.”
Stephen Cohen of SeattlePI.com looks at the Seahawks' decision to release offensive lineman Kristjan Sokoli:
While the 6-foot-5, 300-pound Sokoli, 24, possesses elite athleticism for a player his size, he struggled with the change of positions. Seahawks offensive line/assistant head coach Tom Cable initially tried him at center during his rookie offseason before moving him to guard.
The former Buffalo star and first Albanian-born player in the NFL was buried on the 2016 depth chart behind players like fellow 2015 draft choice Mark Glowinski, the team's projected starter at left guard, and 2016 third-round pick Rees Odhiambo.
During a radio interview on 710 ESPN Seattle, Cable said J'Marcus Webb still has a chance to win the starting right tackle job. Via Brady Henderson:
“You’ll see Garry and J’Marcus play a little bit more on Thursday night,” he said, referring to the Seahawks’ preseason finale at Oakland. “To settle it, you can’t do it by picking a horse unless the horse races, so they’ve got to go play. They’ve got to compete.”
