SEATTLE -- Starting strong safety Kam Chancellor is on the active roster Sunday for the Seattle Seahawks after being listed as questionable with a hip injury and missing practice Thursday and Friday.
But starting center Max Unger is not active, as expected. He was listed as doubtful with a foot injury. Stephen Schilling will make his first start at center Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys at CenturyLink Field.
Chancellor made his first appearance on the field Sunday less than two hours before kickoff, doing lap around the field with Jeron Johnson, the man who would have replaced him if Chancellor didn’t play.
Chancellor went through his normal pre-game workout routine and was smiling and laughing, so it was clear he felt good enough to play. He even stopped and signed autographs near the tunnel on his way back to the locker room.
Having Chancellor on the field, a Pro Bowl player who is one of the biggest hitters in the NFL, could be a big factor Sunday in a game against Jason Witten, one of the best tight ends in the NFL.
Besides Unger, the other inactives Sunday for Seattle are running back Christine Michael, rookie wide receivers Paul Richardson and Kevin Norwood, offensive tackle Andrew McDonald, tight end Zach Miller and cornerback Tharold Simon.
