NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- He stretched with ease. He handed off with authority. He huddled with comfort. He threw fine.
I jest, at least some.
The first snippet of Marcus Mariota at work in the Titans' red, quarterback practice jersey was minimal. Mariota, eight other draft picks, 14 undrafted rookies and 30 tryout players ran through the basic paces. Media saw them stretch and do positional drills before the session was closed to us.
Those positional drills for Mariota included:
Some handoffs and rollouts.
Passes to stationary targets (equipment men and kicker Mike Meyer) while ducking a rushing coach and climbing the pocket.
One-on-one passes, with tryout quarterback Michael German throwing opposite Mariota.
Seven-on-no-one work, where a couple tryout tight ends, Tevin Westbrook and Brock DeCicco, didn't do a lot to stand out in a positive way.
I wish I could give you some big review, but I can't. There wasn't a lot to see. I did the best I could to take pictures and videos which I shared via Twitter and Instagram.
Second-round pick Dorial Green-Beckham looked confident leading a group of nine receivers. At time, the 6-foot-5, 237 pound DGB looked like a giraffe among his peers.
More to come soon, after we have a chance to speak with Ken Whisenhunt, Mariota and the rest of the players when they've finished.
