NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Thirteen members of the 2015 Tennessee Titans received at least $100,000 in performance-based pay.
The money comes out of a fund that supplements salaries of players who don’t make a big salary, but do play a high number of snaps. A total of $3.802 million is divided among players on each team.
For the Titans, here are the five guys who got the most:
Inside linebacker Avery Williamson: $269k
Defensive end DaQuan Jones: $181k
Outside linebacker David Bass: $171k
Center Andy Gallik: $166k
Running back Antonio Andrews: $154k
Safety Daimion Stafford: $154k
Williamson and Jones played more by design and on merit.
Andrews played 35.6 percent of the snaps, a total that mounted late in the season as he started 10 games largely because of the failures of Bishop Sankey.
Stafford started twice, but he accumulated snaps by playing a lot in dime packages, really functioning as a linebacker. He wound up at 42.3 percent of the defensive snaps.
Bass owes his extra money to an injury to Derrick Morgan, and Gallik was the beneficiary of snaps that came when Brian Schwenke was lost for the season with an ankle injury in the team's fifth game.
