RICHMOND, Virginia – Washington Redskins rookie linebacker Su'a Cravens, fresh off an interception earlier in the day, felt he was in a good spot. It was time for his rookie skit and the two players ahead of him had finished their songs. So Cravens believed he wouldn’t be harmed.
With strobe lights behind him, he started to sing one of Usher’s songs: "Confessions."
“Everyone likes Usher. I’m thinking this is easy money,” Cravens said.
But this is training camp and Cravens is a rookie. Nothing is easy.
“I got the first line," Cravens said. “Booooo! I was like, wow. The first two acts in front of me, they sung. Everyone let them go. I’m like, ‘OK, it’s going to be a smooth transition.’ Soon as I start it’s like, ‘Booooo!’… I started and I’m getting paper balls, boos and, ‘Stone him!’”

Cravens blamed one person: fellow linebacker Will Compton.
“Will had it out for me,” he said. “He told everyone to boo me before I even started.”
Redskins tight end Niles Paul captured it on video, then tweeted it early Saturday morning. The veterans had a good chuckle about it Saturday.
“He kept talking,” Redskins end Ricky Jean Francois said. “All you see is paper balls flying across from everywhere. He’s trying to get it off. He wanted to use his music and he had strobe lights. Even people that did get a song off all you saw is flying paper balls left and right. [Will] was setting him up for failure. We wanted him to go up there to see how it feels.”
