@joshweinfuss AP is threatening to retire, how does that affect the @AZCardinals' pursuit of him?

@joshweinfuss: If Adrian Peterson retires -- which I don't think he will -- then the Minnesota Vikings will still own his rights. That means the Arizona Cardinals can't pursue him unless he's released or traded.

@joshweinfuss What impression has David Johnson been giving at OTA's?

@joshweinfuss: A very good one so far. The rookie out of the University of Northern Iowa has drawn the attention of some coaches. David Johnson has the size and speed the Cardinals are looking for and has pleased thus far.

@joshweinfuss Heard Arians mention the immaturity of DJ Humphries. Can you elaborate - in what regard? Not in the playbook, joking around?

@joshweinfuss: There's not much to elaborate on as of now. Bruce Arians didn't get into it much when I asked about D.J. Humphries' progress, other than he's immature. There have only been six practices and he's missed at least one that I know of. Being 21 years old, it can be any of a host of issues. If it has to do with the playbook after just about a month of being on campus, then the Cardinals will have their hands full for the rest of his contract.

@joshweinfuss: This is a good question because there are a couple. I'd say center is a major question mark because neither A.Q. Shipley nor Ted Larsen have separated themselves from each other yet. Inside linebacker is likely Sean Weatherspoon's job ,but the spot next to him during base schemes is up for grabs. Other than those two, I'd say the other positions who aren't major question marks but will be interesting to watch into training camp is the secondary running back, the fifth receiver, third and fourth tight end, and right cornerback.

@joshweinfuss: I see where your head is with this question. I think it's a little bit of both. Yes, I think the job is open -- maybe not wide open, but definitely open. If Phillip Sims or Chandler Harnish can prove through camp that they're more capable than Logan Thomas to run the offense in case of an emergency like the Cardinals experienced last season, then, yes, they'll get the job. But at the same time, it was almost as if Arians was firing a warning shot in the air to Thomas, saying, "This job isn't guaranteed to be yours." Thomas still has work to do and progress to make, but if he can stay steady I think the job is his.
