GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Arizona Cardinals' injury report is shrinking by the day.
Just six players will miss Tuesday’s practice, and for the first time since Arizona donned pads on the third day of training camp, none were running backs.
Cornerbacks Darren Woodard and Jonte Green, linebackers Shaq Riddick and Sean Weatherspoon, wide receiver Michael Floyd and tackle Rob Crisp were ruled out of practice by coach Bruce Arians.
That means Arizona will have all eight running backs on its roster practicing together for the first time, including new addition Chris Johnson, who signed with Arizona on Monday. Cornerback Jerraud Powers, who’s recovering from an oblique strain, said it didn’t take long for the injured running backs to get healthy once Johnson showed up.
“I think everybody’s healthy now,” Powers said. “Whenever you sign a guy like Chris, all of a sudden everybody wants to get back on the field.”
The Cardinals announced that linebacker Zack Wagenmann was waived/injured Monday morning. Arians said Wagenmann, who broke his foot during a pre-draft workout with a team, will have another operation on the same screw in his right foot.
Arians feels Wagenmann, who was signed as an undrafted free agent in May, is intriguing enough as a prospect to keep on the roster.
“We loved him on tape coming out,” Arians said. “It’s just an unfortunate thing when you get those foot injuries.”
