One of the busiest periods of the NFL calendar will begin Saturday, when teams can begin negotiations with unrestricted free agents across the league.
Technically, offers can't be made but teams are allowed to exchange "negotiating positions" with agents. Deals can be consummated as soon as 4 p.m. Tuesday, when the 2015 league year begins.
Here is a list of Buffalo Bills free agents set to hit the open market this weekend:
Unrestricted:
DE Jerry Hughes
RB C.J. Spiller
DE Jarius Wynn
TE Lee Smith
LB Larry Dean
Restricted free agents: The Bills will not tender offensive tackle Chris Hairston, the team's lone restricted free agent. They could bring him back at a lower price -- the restricted free agent tender would've cost nearly $1.6 million for one season -- but Hairston will now become an unrestricted free agent and could find a deal elsewhere.
Exclusive-rights free agents: The Bills tendered three of their four exclusive-rights free agents Thursday: wide receivers Chris Hogan and Justin Brown, and defensive lineman Corbin Bryant. At this point, those players' only choices are to sign the tender or not play in the league next season. The Bills have not extended a tender to kicker Jordan Gay, a sign they might not carry a kickoff specialist next season.
