The Buffalo Bills are hosting free-agent outside linebacker/defensive end Michael Buchanan on a visit Friday, the team announced.
Buchanan, 24, was waived by the New England Patriots this month. A seventh-round pick in 2013, he played in 15 games as a rookie, recording two sacks. He saw his playing time drop off last season, appearing in three games.
At 6-foot-6 and 255 pounds, Buchanan was used as a defensive end in the Patriots' 4-3 alignment but projects to either 'Sam' linebacker or defensive end in Rex Ryan's defense. If signed, Buchanan would compete with Bryan Johnson, Randell Johnson and others for a roster spot.
