LeSean McCoy pulled out of the Pro Bowl last week and was replaced by Miami's Jay Ajayi, but that doesn't mean the Buffalo Bills' star running back has forgotten the teammates that helped him get his fifth Pro Bowl nod of his career.
Stopping in Aspen, Colorado after a vacation in Costa Rica, McCoy posted an photo Sunday to Instagram of 10 wrist watches.
Pro Football Focus ranked the Bills' offensive line 11th in the NFL this past regular season. Its top-ranked player, left guard Richie Incognito, was named to the Pro Bowl as an injury replacement last week. Also blocking for the Bills' top-ranked running game were left tackle Cordy Glenn (11 games/11 starts), left tackle Cyrus Kouandjio (12 games/five starts), center Eric Wood (nine games/nine starts), center Ryan Groy (16 games/seven starts), right guard John Miller (16 games/16 starts) and right tackle Jordan Mills (16 games/16 starts). McCoy might have also gifted watches to top tight ends Charles Clay and Nick O'Leary, as well as fullback Jerome Felton.
If McCoy's "#10KonyaWRIST$$" hashtag suggests each watch is worth $10,000, the running back spent $100,000 on the gifts -- or about 2 percent of the $5.05 million he earned from the Bills this season.
McCoy, 28, rushed for a career-high 5.4 yards-per-carry average, as well as 1,267 yards and 13 rushing touchdowns. He started 15 games, leaving a Week 7 loss to the Dolphins because of a hamstring injury and missing the next game against the Patriots. Overall, the Bills' offense ranked first in the NFL in rushing yards per game (164.4), yards per rush (5.35), rushing touchdowns (29) and first down rate per rush (29.7).
Star players buying their less-heralded offensive linemen gifts isn't unusual in the NFL. Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor bought his offensive line 65-inch televisions for Christmas in 2015, while Texans quarterback Brock Osweiler and Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger both bought customized suits for their blockers this season.
