GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Letroy Guion should know by the end of the week whether the cash, vehicle and firearm that was seized during the Green Bay Packers defensive tackle's arrest on Feb. 3 will be returned.
Guion appeared in Bradford County (Florida) court on Monday during a probable cause hearing pertaining to the forfeiture of his property, the Starke, Florida, police said in a statement.
No decision was made on Monday, according to ESPN 850 in Gainesville, Florida.
When Guion was pulled over for erratic driving, police seized his vehicle, 357 grams a marijuana, an unloaded gun (which he which was registered in Minnesota) and $190,028.81 in cash. The money, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Caplan, was from his Packers' paychecks.
He was charged with felony possession of marijuana and felony possession of a firearm.
According a reporter from ESPN 850 who was in the courtroom Monday, Guion’s attorney is attempting to prove that the marijuana is not related to the money or car and should not be forfeited.
The Packers had been in discussions with Guion about a contract extension, but those talks are now on hold. Guion signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Packers last season after the Minnesota Vikings released him.
