Everything Eddie Lacy did this offseason with P90X founder Tony Horton, who not only helped Lacy refine his workouts but also his diet, should help the Green Bay Packers running back return to his 2013 and 2014 form. He knows the pressure is on him this year in the final season of his rookie contract. Meanwhile, look for James Starks to continue to share the workload, especially early in the season when coach Mike McCarthy wants to keep Lacy fresh.
Eddie Lacy
ESPN Fantasy Projection: 1,033.7 yards, 6.3 touchdowns
Over or under: Lacy’s 758-yard season looks like an aberration. He topped the 1,100-yard mark in each of his first two seasons, and he’s determined to get back to that. So Lacy should go over the yardage mark. The same for the touchdowns. In his down year, he still scored five touchdowns (three rushing and two receiving).
James Starks
ESPN Fantasy Projection: 494 yards, 0.8 touchdowns
Over or under: When Lacy was at his best in 2013 and 2014, Starks rushed for 493 and 333 yards, respectively, so if Lacy performs as expected, then take the under on Starks’ yardage totals. Go over on touchdowns since he’s had at least one in every season since 2011. Last year, he had five (two rushing and three receiving).
Who else could see time: John Crockett and rookie Brandon Burks are locked in a battle for the No. 3 halfback spot, while Aaron Ripkowski has replaced John Kuhn at fullback.
