There is a lot of pressure for quarterback Brock Osweiler's numbers to reflect the four-year, $72 million contract he signed with the Texans in March, especially given the talent they signed this offseason to help him. I don’t think Osweiler’s numbers will blow you away at the end of the season, but I think he will get close to the ESPN projections.
Brock Osweiler
ESPN Fantasy Projection: 4,003.4 yards, 25.1 TDs
Over or under: I will pick the under in yards and the slight over in touchdowns. When you look at how the Texans added to the offense, it seems like they are trying to balance out their attack, especially with the addition of running back Lamar Miller. The running game will be heavily involved again this season, so I don’t think Osweiler will get the chance to throw for more than 4,000 yards. I do think, thanks to his impressive receiving group of DeAndre Hopkins, Jaelen Strong and Will Fuller, he will get his touchdowns.
Who else could see time: Quarterbacks Brandon Weeden and Tom Savage are competing for the backup job right now. Though Savage has had an impressive camp, I wouldn’t be surprised if the veteran Weeden -- who won two key games for the Texans down the stretch last season and was signed to a two-year deal in April -- would be the first up if Osweiler has to miss time.
