Indianapolis Colts tight end Dwayne Allen entered the NFL in 2012 with a significant chip on his shoulder because he felt like he should have been selected higher than the third round. He'll have an opportunity to prove that this season now that he's the team's top option at that position.

Over or under: Under, but not by much. The biggest issue that could cause Allen from not coming close to those projected numbers is his struggle to stay healthy -- he’s missed 21 games in his career. Don’t be fooled by Allen’s career-low year in 2015 -- 16 receptions for 109 yards and a touchdown. The Colts needed him to basically be a third offensive tackle because the line consistently struggled to block. Allen’s role in the passing game should be increased because he’s clearly the team’s No. 1 player at tight end now that Coby Fleener is playing in New Orleans. New offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski is a big proponent of using tight ends in the passing game in his system. That’s good for Allen because he has the athleticism to beat most linebackers and size to go up and get the ball against smaller defensive backs. Allen could be quarterback Andrew Luck's primary option in the red zone. He has nine receiving touchdowns in the red zone in his career.
Who else could see time: Jack Doyle goes from being the No. 3 tight end the past three seasons to being Allen’s backup. Don’t expect Doyle to put up significant numbers. He’s more of blue-collar player who is more of blocker than a pass catcher.
